John Bergin (1858-1925)
John Bergin was the son of Denis Bergin and Anne Elizabeth Cummins. He was baptised in the Catholic Church in the parish of Clonaslee, in Queens County (now known as County Laois) on 29 August 1858.
At the time of his baptism, the family was residing on the townland of Ballykenneen. Like his father and brother, John joined the Royal Irish Constabulary. At the time of his mother's death in 1882, John was stationed at Belmullet in Co. Mayo.
In 1884, he married Margaret Lavelle from Belmullet. Details of the children are included with information about his wife.
