Herbert Cyril Endacott
The son of Richard Henry Endacott and Barbara Leggatt, Herbert Cyril Endacott was born at Merrendee, near Mudgee, New South Wales, on 15 December 1894.
In the 1930 electorall roll, he is shown as boarding in Werris Creek. The address shown is c.o. Mrs Hart, Henry St., Werris Creek. Unusually, the roll does not record his occupation.
At some stage he moved to Newcastle where he met Miss Aileen Mabel Clifton, daughter of Mary Temple Calnan & Ernest Clifton of Cardiff, New South Wales. On 18 March 1933 they married at St. James' Anglican Church, Wickham, N.S.W and left to spend several months in Mudgee with the Endacott family.

Herb & Mabel's wedding
Obscured is Mr. Wallbridge, best-man; the bride's maid is Mrs. Wallbridge (close friends of Herb & Mabel.)
When they returned they purchased a house on Main Road, Cardiff. In the 1936, 1937 and 1943 electoral rolls, he is shown as residing at Main Road, Cardiff and his occupation is shown as "fitter's labourer".
Sadly, his young wife died in childbirth on 13 August 1936. Sadness was mixed with happiness, because his young wife gave birth to a baby son, Desmond, before she died. Herb and his young son lived with his deceased wife's family for several years. Later Herb was to re-marry but the boy remained living most of the time with his grandparents, the Cliftons.
Herb married a second time, in approximately 1940; his new wife was Grace Green who gave him a second son, Max. They continued to live in the Newcastle area for a while until later moving to Ipswich, Queensland.
