Ephraim William Manfield
Ephraim William Manfield was born on 14 July 1862 in Dunedin, New Zealand. His parents were James Samuel Manfield and Jane Robinson Simpson who had gone from Australia to New Zealand in search of gold, but later returned to Australia, settling in the Buckland/Mt Buffalo area of Victoria.
Ephraim married Isabella Lee (born 1866 at Stanley, near Beechworth, in Victoria).

- Wilfred Mozart Manfield (1905-unknown)
Ephraim Manfield's occupation was police officer and he was stationed in the Rutherglen area of Victoria in 1887. Around 1904 the family was at Wandilligong near Bright, and by 1910 were at Prentice North, near Rutherglen. They were later at Bentleigh in Melbourne. After Ephraim's retirement, he and and Isabella settled in Myrtleford for the remainder of thier lives and they were buried there.
Ephraim died on the slopes of Mount Buffalo on 17 September 1946. Isabella died on 18 january 1956, possibly at Wangaratta.
