Clara McDermott Spratt
Clara was the daughter of Thomas Spratt and Annie Ramsay Leggett. She was born at Hargraves, New South Wales, on 23 December 1877. McDermott was the name of Thomas' mother.

Clara married John Carty, postmaster, on the 24 th November 1903 at her father's hotel at Hargraves. They later moved to Orange then Bathurst. Sometime between 1915 and 1928 the family moved to Bondi Junction in Sydney.
Children of the marriage were
- Mervyn Lionel Carty : birth registered in Mudgee, NSW, in 1905. Married Ruby Olive Mary Wilson in 1942 and had three children. Mervyn died 29 May 1985.
- Oswald Stanislaus Carty : born 20 June 1906; birth registered in Mudgee, NSW. Married Mary (Masie) O'Rourke in 1934 and had 3 children. Oswald died 31 December 1984.
- Olive Veronica Carty : born 2 March 1908. First marriage to George Hall in 1930; second marriage to Russell Burns in 1948 with no children from either marriage. Olive died on 30 January 1985 at Urunga, Queensland.
- Leslie John Desmond (Jack) Carty : born 10 October 1913; birth registered at Orange, NSW. Married Edith Caroline Colebrook at St Mary's Church of England, Waverley NSW on 4 November 1939 and had four children. Second marriage to Aida Rocco in 1960, with no children from this marriage. Jack died on 11 October 1990 at Gosford, New South Wales.

Clara Carty
Clara Spratt Carty died at Maroubra on the 31st of January 1946. Her remains are interred with her parents at Waverley cemetery.
