On 18 March 1933 Mabel (as she was known) , aged 23 years, married Herbert Cyril Endacott, aged 38 years, (called "Herbie" by Mabel's mother, at St. James' Anglican Church, Wickham, N.S.W.
Mabel's living cousins & friends have said that they will always remember dear Mabel's wedding, how pretty she looked & how happy the couple looked together.

After the wedding, the new couple set off for Mudgee, where Herb introduced his loved Mabel to his parents, Richard and Barbara, and to the rest of the Endacotts. Mabel & Herb had first planned to visit Mudgee, return to farewell Mabel's parents (Ernest & Mary Clifton at Cardiff) and then move to Sydney to live. But, the couple were so attached to Newcastle, they stayed and purchased a new home on Main Road Cardiff, not far from Mabel's parents.
There must have been a great deal of excitement as the young couple awaited the birth of their first child. In Nurse Metcalfe's Private Hospital, Wallsend, Mabel gave birth to a young son Desmond Charles Herbert Endacott on 13 August 1936. The infant was named after Mabel's prize horse "Sir Desmond."
Sadly, Mabel Endacott, aged just 26 years, died the same day.
Mabel's funeral was held on the 15th of August, 1936 and went from her parents' house at Oxley Parade to Sandgate Cemetery.
Thanks to Matthew J. Endacott, Mabel's great grandson,
