Noah was the son of Henry Leggett and Elizabeth Blake. He was born at Gislingham, Suffolk, England, and was baptised there on 22 May 1740.
On 13 April 1762, Noah Leggett married Elizabeth Hunt. Elizabeth's ancestry is unknown. Noah signed his name while Elizabeth marked an "X" (Gislingham Register FB130/D1/5).
Noah and Elizabeth were the parents of Robert Leggett and it is not known if there other children.
A man named Noah Leggett was buried in Gislingham on 1 December 1818; but the stated age of the deceased man was 84 years, requiring that he had been born in 1734. Possibly this is "our" Noah with an incorrect age. At this time it is prudent to record uncertainty in regard to Noah's death.
