I received your most kind and welcome letter last week and was glad to hear that you were quite well and wa that you would be coming up to to see us soon Father has bought a cow with a young calf Our horse is in very good condition The weather is very ot up here I am in lower third and Anthony is in upper third. There were races in Liverpool yesterday none of us went to them I think I have told you all the news this time With love from all to all

Dear Bert

You will be thinking I am forgotten forgetting you because I did not write to you How is Fisher getting on I suppose you can ride well now Are you in third class yet I am in lower third. Will you ask George Byrnes to write to me and will you tell me how Pat Quain is getting on with his donkey has he gotte got him broken into harnes yet We are milking two cows now. Were you down to Sydney at Christmas. If not and you will be coming down at Easter you ought to pay us a visit. The Guvoner Governer died at 5 o’clock on Friday last he is going to be buried tempory to morrow and then taken home to Sotland when his people are are ready to go I think I have told yow all the news this time

I received your most kind and welcome letter a few days ago and was glad to hear that you were all quite well I am a subscriber to the Boys and Girls Own Newspaper there are two very good stories int it one is called The New Bob Robinson Crusoe and the other Bobby Brown’s First School days I am reading them both The Paper is published is published once a month so I have to wait a long time for it The children play cricket at school but father does not I wish us to play it How is your pony getting on is he I suppose you often ride him into Wellington I We have not got a horse to ride yet We only have one horse and we will not be let ride him I think I have told you all the news this time With love

Johnnie and self have colds a great many people have children have the whooping cough How did yorur school come off at the Inspection our school came off very well all upper third had no mistakes in Dictation I think this is all the news this time With kind regards from all to all

Dear Ted

I now take the pleasure of writing to you to let you know how we are getting on We are all well at present and I hope you are the same We hahe to cart water about a mile. There is no food for the cattle because we have had no rain We are milking one cow now There is nothing in the except oranges lemons and passion fruit and if we do not get rain soon there will be very little other fruit How are you getting on at school I am in third class and Anthony is in fourth How many of you are going to school A great many cattle have died about here I think I have told you all the news this time

Just a few lines to let you know how we are all getting on we are all well at present and I hope you are the same When will you be coming up to see us We have had a little drop of U rain lately but it was not enough The grass is beginning to shoot a little now There has been a ship lost a week of or two ago on the Seal rocks it was going from Sydney to China there was only five saved and it is supposed that a great many ships that a great mnay ships that have been lost and never heard of were lost there I think this is all the news this time Hoping to see you soon

I now take the pleasure of writing to you to let you know how we are getting on We are all well at present and I hope you are the same There has been very large fires all over the country lately and a large ammount of damage was done many people were left without money or home In many parts of the country the weather is getting very warm and there is no sign of rain In some parts of the country people do not remember so severe a winter for twenty five years Wherever you go it the weather is the general subject of conversation

I received your kind and welcome letter yesterday I was glad to hear you were enjoying the best of health as we are the same Anthony was at home last week with earache There was a man up the country lately that killed a large snake and then threw it on his camp fire to burn it then threw out two large legs from under w its belly and began to kick I remain have no more m news this time

Just a few lines to let you know how we are We are all well and have just had some lovely rain so we can do some more work in the garden This is the first day I have been to school since the holidays Anthony has not been yet he is was wanted at home We exchanged our horse for another & we are very pleased with the new one & whenever he gets a chance of gettg out of the paddock he gallops to the gate to try & get into the yard

I was very gald to receive a letter from you & hear you were all well There is going to be a show in Liverpool on the 18th & 19th of March We are having plenty of rain now & the grass is growing lovely We are milking two cows now & they are giving a great deal more milk since the rain came The rain has made a great many weeds grow in the garden There is noting in the garden for the soldier birds except apples & they are rather hard for them I have no more news this time

Just a few lines to let you know how we are getting on we are all well at present There is to be a teameating for the anniversary of the church Mr Lees out to take the chair also a picnic we have not had a picnic at our school for two years. We have the inspection over now five of the children got Certificates we done very well This is all the news this time

Did you see by the papers that the governor has been visiting different towns opening schools hqws and visiting schools but he gave the gratest praise to the Grafton Public School He gave the senior boys a very nice address but he was better pleased with the infants He paid a very high compliment to the head teacher who has 700 children under him for the way that the brought conducted his school

Your welcome letter arrived safely last week I went to Liverpool on Saturday The roads are very bad Anthony has not been at school for a long time now. Mother has not been very well lately. I am in third class now We have to feed our cows now on sorghum and keep them in a paddock at night We always keep aour horse in the paddock he is very fat This is all the news this time
